Exploring Rabat

Just dropping in with a quick update: Here are a few of my favorite shots I’ve taken while exploring Rabat. I’ve taken after my grandmother in this regard, I love walking! All of these pictures are a walkable distance from my host family’s apartment, and taking the time to see them after school has been fantastic!

The blue and white houses of the Kasbah. Very greek!

The view from my favorite spot, at the end of the spit. Straight ahead you can see Saleh, on the other side of the river. On the right, in the beige, is this side of the river, the Medina, and the Kasbah.
Some shots of the gardens within the Kasbah.

Molly and I on the beach near the Kasbah.

And finally, Masjid Assouna, or Mosquee Assouna, in front of one of the busiest intersections I've ever crossed in my life.
One thing I've realized is that tourists totally miss Rabat on their trips. Of course, this is to my benefit and their loss, but it still makes me sad. It's so beautiful here and a very lovely place to live, and I'm so grateful that I get to take it all in.
